Building Foundations with Positive Nutrition
Real changes – the ones that will last – are built on a solid foundation. The first step is to make a plan that works for you instead of trying to fit your life into the latest diet you’re trying out.
Positive nutrition is what I describe as focusing on what you can add to your eating (and lifestyle), not what you need to avoid, limit, restrict or cut out. All food can fit into healthy eating, though that will look a little different for each person, based on their health priorities.
Whether you’re looking for guidance on creating habits for a healthful (real-life) eating pattern or you realize that you do know what healthy eating is for you but you just can’t seem to make it work … there’s a program just for you.

Improve your Relationship with Food
Craving Change®
Step away from focusing on WHAT to eat. Find out why you eat the way you do, why it’s hard to change your eating habits and what you can do about it.
where should I start?
What is your biggest challenge right now?
Do you first want help with WHAT, WHEN and HOW to eat? Or do you struggle more with understanding WHY you eat?
Nourish your Health
improve your health with sustainable habits
Do you want …
- guidance on what and how to eat for health?
- credible resources for lowering health risks, like diabetes or heart disease, as your body gets older?
- to measure success without the number on the scale?
- confidence that you’re doing enough for your health?
- to build sustainable, long-term eating habits instead of trying out another diet to see if it ‘works’?
Craving Change®
change your relationship with food
Do you …
- feel confident you know how to eat for your health but just can’t seem to do it?
- often use food as a way to deal with life’s stress?
- call yourself an emotional eater?
- want to understand why you eat and uncover the reasons behind your problematic habits?
- eat in response to uncomfortable feelings or events?
If you feel that both programs speak to your struggles, you’re not alone!
If this is you, I suggest starting with The Nourish your Health Program as it touches on some main topics also found in the Craving Change program. If you find that The Nourish your Health Program is all you need, great! If it was a good start but you want to work more on your relationship with food, Craving Change is a perfect companion program.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
In-between text support and check-ins are also within your portal so it’s all kept in one place.
Where are you based and are you accepting new clients?
This means that I’m currently accepting new clients who are residents of BC.
Both of your programs sound like a good fit - how do I choose?
The Nourish your Health Program and The Craving Change program are complimentary programs.
The first question to ask yourself is what your biggest struggle is right now – 1) is it about knowing what to eat and creating healthful habits and routines in your life or 2) is it more about how you use food in your life, feeling uncomfortable with your eating or having the willpower to stick with your habits?
If both are feeling like equal struggles for you right now, I suggest The Nourish your Health Program as there are some discussions in here about emotional eating and habit-building without relying on willpower.
After The Nourish your Health Program, if you want more focused support in understanding why you eat the way you do and how to comfort yourself without food, the Craving Change program can be a great compliment to what you’ve already begun working through.
Will my insurance cover a dietitian and do you offer direct billing?
Some companies also offer a Health Spending account that can be used as a top-up or to cover additional health-related expenses.
Most insurance companies do cover virtual sessions but it’s never a bad idea to confirm with your’s to be sure.
I currently offer Direct Billing however, again, it’s based on if your insurance company allows dietitians to do so.
I'm looking for help with my child's weight - do you work with kids?
When one person in a household changes their eating though, it can affect others in the house – either in a positive way or not.
Contact me to discuss how or if one of my service offers might fit your family’s situation.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
However, if you have a medical benefits plan, some insurance companies do require it for reimbursement.
